Dr. Marissa has called the Upstate of South Carolina home for more than twelve years, though she originally grew up in Upstate New York. Her path to chiropractic has always been guided by curiosity about the human body and a deep respect for the body’s ability to adapt and heal when given the right support.
Before beginning her chiropractic career, Dr. Marissa spent two years owning and operating a restaurant. That experience shaped the way she approaches patient care today—with an understanding that people need healthcare that fits into their lives, not something that adds more stress to it.
After completing chiropractic school, she spent several years working in a thriving pediatric and prenatal chiropractic office, where she developed a deep passion for supporting mothers, babies, and growing families. During that time she saw how much mothers carry—physically, emotionally, and mentally—and how powerful it can be when families receive the right support during seasons of transition.
She is Webster Certified and has trained in several gentle chiropractic techniques that focus on supporting the nervous system and helping the body adapt more efficiently to stress. She is constantly pursuing additional training and coursework to deepen her knowledge and improve the care experience for her patients.
Dr. Marissa approaches every family she works with with deep respect for the responsibility of caring for children and supporting parents. Her goal is to create a space where families feel heard, supported, and cared for during some of the most important seasons of their lives.
Outside of practice, she enjoys traveling, going to concerts, camping, hiking, and spending time outdoors with her dogs.
